Both easy-wearing and sharp, it’s what the Italian courtier, diplomat, and author Baldassare Castiglione must have had in mind when he coined the term sprezzatura to describe effortless nonchalance. The fabric is an Italian wool flannel that’s not too heavy but still warm. It has a classic fit, with a natural shoulder and a slightly nipped-in waist. Details include a double vent in the back and a lightweight butterfly lining. There’s also a chest pocket known as a barchetta (Italian for “little boat”) because the sleek curvature of the pocket resembles a small skiff.

A natural waist leads to a relaxed fit through the hips and thighs before tapering at the calf; the fabric is a soft Italian flannel that’s not too heavy, but still warm. Pull on a pair to elevate a humble hoodie or tee, or top with a dress shirt and a sport coat (like the matching suit jacket, perhaps) for a more formal look.
